International Planned Parenthood Federation Exposed in International Abortion Funding Scandal

"The International Planned Parenthood Federation is violating US law, and there's proof to show it," said Mark DeYoung, director of American Life League. "The time has come to cut all US taxpayer dollars from Planned Parenthood."

DeYoung's statement follows congressional reports that IPPF used $700,000 in US taxpayer funds to pay for abortions in Uganda and India. A congressional spokesperson described the funding scandal "as proof that [IPPF] violated their own agreement with the US government."

When questioned about the violation, IPPF defiantly called abortion a basic "human right" and blamed auditors from the US General Accounting Office for making "us believe we were not in a position to sign" the provision of the Mexico City Policy. That provision prevents US funds from going to foreign "family planning" projects that fund abortion, or to groups that lobby foreign governments for laws that decriminalize abortion.

"IPPF receives millions of dollars to kill the preborn children of poor women of color throughout the developing world," DeYoung said. "If most Americans knew about the genocidal underpinnings of IPPF, they would shudder to think that their tax dollars have supported it."
